Functions

Commodities Fundamental Analysis Headhunter

HW Anderson has played an integral part in the development of fundamental analytics across the commodities sector via the recruitment of high value, high impact analysts coming from a variety of industry leading businesses. Each of HW Anderson’s co-founders were active as commodities fundamental analysis headhunters (cross-commodity) for over ten years allowing them to bring established market knowledge to the business from its inception. As commodities trading continues to proliferate as an industry, the need for strong fundamental analysts has become more and more pertinent, hence it is an area HW Anderson continues to target across the major US/European trading schemes.

Our Coverage

Diverse Relationships

We have a proven reputation in delivering for an extensive array of clients. The following list displays a selection of the core firm types we most commonly work alongside when headhunting for fundamental analysts within the commodities sector.

Firm Types

Cross Sector Expertise

  • Producers/Utilities – Each of our utility clients have trading arms to their business which enables them to actively participate in the wholesale market. HW Anderson has played an integral role as a commodities fundamental analysis headhunter in strengthening their view across commodities by seeking out exceptional analytical talent to join their trading desks.
  • Commodity Trading Houses – Due to their ability to take on significant risk based on potential returns, our privately held trading clients are continually looking to expand their trading desks due to industry increases in liquidity e.g. within renewable energy.
  • Hedge funds – Whether they occupy a discretionary or systematic approach towards investment decisions, each of our hedge fund clients have leveraged HW Anderson to identify leading talent within the fundamental analytics space.
  • Investment Banks – Despite being less prevalent, particularly across Power & Gas due to their inability to trade proprietary, large investment banks have seen a recent shift towards facilitating such trading desks. We are therefore providing our expertise as a commodities fundamental analysis headhunter to help them enter this space in the most proactive manner.
